In this article we reflect upon a didactic experience developed whithin the Pedagogy subject of the BA courses for Physical Education at the National University of La Plata, Argentina, which involved the introduction of field work in an educational process that had until that moment been predominately theoretical. We intended to favor the relationship between theory and practice in the pedagogic education of future teachers through the observation and conceptualization of diverse educational situations and practices. We also aimed at exploring the potential of the methodology selected to articulate the two reference fields that determine the teaching of the subject: generic pedagogic theorization and Physical Education specific pedagogic theory.
