Adorno and Derrida´s thoughts are undoubtedly among the most decisive and influent ones of contemporary days. Both undertook the task of interpreting the western philosophical tradition through the elaboration of reading and writing general strategies that Adorno, on the one hand, identified as the characteristic job of the “critique” and Derrida, on the other, as the “deconstruction” concept and practice. By commencing with some of the unanswerable differences between their thinking, we attempt to cast light over what yet we consider a singular affinity between their ways of tackling both philosophical discourse and philosophy as an institution.
