In this paper we analyze the first translations into Spanish of books by the French writer Maurice Blanchot, taking as a reference the set of his work framed in exercises of literary criticism. We refer to Sade y Lautréamont translated by Marcia Cerretani for Ediciones del Mediodía in 1967, and El espacio literario translated by Vicky Palant and Jorge Jinkis for Paidós in 1969. Taking into account that there is no specific research on these translations in the state of the art, we propose a broad approach to study them, combining archival work on the corresponding translations, interviews, works on the history of publishing and translation in Argentina, as well as an in-depth analysis of specific moments in Blanchot's work.
