This work aims to analyse the local problems associated with the common goods of Antinaco (La Rioja, Argentina), understood as water, vegetation, and fauna. To do so, the complex systems approach is combined with Participatory Action Research (PAR) and Ecological Economy and, from this framework, a set of participatory methodological techniques is articulated in a dynamic scheme: problem tree, timeline, transects and exchange tables, developed from meetings in workshops in Antinaco, spaces in which the dialogue of knowledge was encouraged. The results account for the historical development of the population of Antinaco in relation to the nature of the area that made possible the settlement and subsequent development of the town. Likewise, different rationalities that operate and impact the natural resources of the place in a differentiated manner are identified. The problems linked to water, vegetation and fauna are due to multiple factors. This work offers new readings, contributes to the discussions that are taking place around Antinaco and the common goods and opens new perspectives for further analysis.
