This paper analyzes the possible transformations brought about by the process of secularization in the modalities of burial and the forms of testing of the Mendoza elite by the end of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. This work will be approached from a cultural perspective and was based on the sources of the time, like material vestiges belonging to the public cemetery of the city of Mendoza and wills made by the notary Francisco Álvarez. While it was possible to infer that this group continued to practice Catholic rites, they began to manifest certain indicators of the name process.
