This article surveys different senses of the category of well-being (from economic to subject dimension) and articulates them in order to analyze a group of advertisements circulating recently in Argentina. Considering the increasing visibility of practices and representations derived from alternative therapies and disciplines, we detect the use of a notion of well-being that understands embodiment not only in its physical but also emotional and mental aspects. Observing the performative nature of these ads on the “imagined consumer”, the analysis indicates how gender roles are implicitly naturalized, treating women -their main target- as guarantors of family welfare through emotional care
