This paper was based on a research project, which, from a socio-anthropological and gender perspective, had the purpose to reflect on the potential that social intervention has to think about categories and policies developed from different disciplinary fields. At the same time, we expect to generate a theoretical and methodological perspective (among others) for research in/from the social work field. The research shows the different complex social networks which are (re)built in the daily practices of different actors that participate and challenge the social policies in which these last develop. We argue that social policies for “inclusive” development of citizenship has become an imperative in the Argentinian policies of recent decades. In this context, our experiences have (re)signified to build the potentiality that intervention/research from a gender perspective has when reflecting on the categories and policy(s) involved in social work. We start considering that from both the state and institutions of the civil society, our intervention / research practices build models that aim to make social problems visible and promote social transformation. Consequently, we argue that intervention / research from a gender perspective allows us to problematize the way we think about and categorize social policie, in each located space from the (re) construction of gender stereotypes.
