The educational sphere is a central component in enabling and sustaining the work of memory. In this narrative we reconstruct the experience that, as trainers of trainers, we went through during a didactic outing: the visit to the La Perla Memory Space, together with advanced students of the Secondary Education Teacher Training Course in Language and Literature at the IES Simón Bolívar, Villa El Libertador Annex. In the framework of the first meeting of the Film and Memory Cycle: ‘The uses of the image in the work of memories’, we carried out a series of interventions in our respective curricular spaces, Discourse Studies and Didactics of Literature, arising from the reflections and discussions that the Cycle proposed. In a present characterised by the return of negationist discourses, the outing and its impact within our classrooms allowed us to connect with the historical responsibility that we, as teachers at Higher Education level, hold in the construction of collective memory. And, at the same time, it urged us to rethink our teaching practices from the perspective of transversality, understood by us as content and learning; that is, what formats, supports and environments we consider most relevant for the teaching and appropriation of what content.
