From the middle nineties, but increasingly after the episodes occurred in 2001, many works regarding social demonstrations have been published in Argentina. With the sole exception of some strictly qualitative research, the great majority of the publications have based their analyses on newspaper articles, with both national and international scope. In this work, the statute of newspaper information as a source is problematized from a perspective based on some of the concepts included in Dialectics of Enlightenment (Adorno and Horkheimer, 1998), and from the viewpoint of Paul Ricouer’s hermeneutics.
