This work includes the first stage of the evaluation of the thermal energy performance of the building, west wing, of the Faculty of Architecture of the National University of Cordoba and constitutes an advance of the research "Energy evaluation of institutional buildings. Simulations, monitoring and calculation of thermal loads, demands and consumption ". It consists of the simulation with the program Ecotect Analysis of the behavior of the building in front of the sun, qualitative and quantitative studies of shadows and obstructions, where data of solar exposure, access and solar incidence were obtained and shade masks of the openings. Monitoring of indoor and outdoor temperatures and relative humidity were also performed using the Hobos Data Logger located at strategic points of the building, during the representative months of solstices and equinoxes, to relieve the internal temperature conditions. The results of the simulation and the monitoring were compared to obtain conclusions and evaluate the performance of the building, its openings and its protections. The analysis of the interior space monitoring yielded higher temperature curves than the exteriors throughout the year, giving account of very hot spaces in the summer and spring seasons. In the results obtained, it was observed that the interior curves copied the trajectory of the external curve of temperature, with very little thermal delay and damping.
