The current paper analyzes the effect of British capitals on the strategic planning and the performance of production activities at the Alto Valle of Río Negro (Argentina), at the beginning of the XX century. This behavior gave way to three basic cornerstones upon which the fruit production circuit of the region was developed: the participation in the division and allocation of land through the Company Tierras del Sud; the railway construction work to transport stocks to the main ports carried out by Ferrocarril Sud; and the creation of the trading company Argentine Fruit Distributors, a monopoly exporting company that brings products to the global markets.
