This paper presents the preliminary results of the pottery study from archeological localities Bajo de la Quinta and Saco Viejo. These are chronologically associated with human contexts dated between ca. 1040-420 years BP. The technological choices involved in the pottery production are evaluated from the macroscopic analysis, examination with a binocular magnifier and experimental tests. The complementarity of the different applied methodologies has allowed to infer differential technical behaviors carried out in some stages of the operational chain of the studied sets, mainly in the pastes preparation, and decoration. Also, it has been possible to verify the suitable conditions of the local raw materials for the production of this technology. Additionally, the use alterations suggest that the pottery containers were involved in domestic tasks for food processing.
