The Laguna Azul locality (LA) has Late Holocene dates (ca. 1906 ± 26 and 1756 ± 28 years BP) and so far, a large number of structures with different morphologies were recorded. A large number of projectile points with different designs and manufacturing stages were recovered in these structures and has led us to raise questions regarding possible use-traces and discard causes of these artefacts. This paper presents the experimental protocol and the results obtained using projectile points replicas, taking into account the designs identified in LA and with local raw materials. The experiments developed increased the knowledge about the impact resistance and allow identifying manufacture and use-traces on this type of technology at a microscopic level. The development of this first stage allows generating interpretative bases and the verification of hypotheses, as well as to record the use of various component elements in a controlled situation.
