Probably because of its intrinsic ambivalence and the multiplicity of functions and representations it enables, the border is everywhere. Therefore, the constant experimentation of the limit is likely to be analyzed according to different modalities and spatio-temporalities. This article intends to address scenes as diverse as the Greek polis, the modern city and certain contemporary border spaces, in order to study the ways in which takes place the articulation between the figures of the city, the citizen and the borders in each of them. Thus, we will try to show that the transformations that currently affect borders require us to create new interpretive categories to understand the politically resistant processes that unfold there.
