El enclave metateatral del grotesco: conflicto gnoseológico, ontológico y metateatralidad comparada

Abstract

El presente trabajo forma parte de una investigación mayor que abarca la totalidad del siglo veinte del teatro argentino en el estudio de las formas y funciones de la metateatralidad. En esta oportunidad abordo el tema desde la perspectiva del teatro comparado, para interpretar la relación entre grotesco y metateatro en la productividad de Luigi Pirandello en el teatro argentino moderno. Para ello focalizo la relación entre las textualidades de Pirandello y Roberto Arlt, analizando la apropiación que el dramaturgo argentino hiciera del modelo del grotesco pirandelliano en sus tres primeras piezas largas: Trescientos millones (1932), Saverio el cruel (1936) y El fabricante de fantasmas (1936).

This article belongs to a larger study about the forms and functions of metatheatre in Argentine drama of the twentieth century. From a comparatist theatre perspective, the focus of this work is to analyze the relationship between the grotesque and metatheatre in both Luigi Pirandello and in modern Argentine theatre. More specifically I explore Roberto Arlt’s appropriation of the Pirandellian grotesque in three of his first works: Trescientos millones (1932), Saverio el cruel (1936), El fabricante de fantasmas (1936).
