Starting from the concern for the process of configuration of colonial society in the 16th century, this work focuses on those inequalities that are perceived and defined at the mesosocial level (that of the domestic organization or house) through the study of clothing personnel, its provision and consumption. The study is limited to a limited set of six cases chosen from the elite of Córdoba that allow us to address the oeconomy or domestic economy. The aim is to enable discussion about the tensions between clothing choice/consumption and social conditions. The approach is predominantly qualitative due to the characteristics and biases of the sources used.
