Dilemas de la democracia (y el capitalismo) en Argentina: transformaciones sociales y reconfiguraciones ideológicas. Parte 1

Abstract

Junto con la crisis económica global han resurgido nuevos desafíos para las sociedades democráticas. En el caso particular de América Latina, ha llegado a ser evidente que cualquier intento por avanzar con políticas democratizadoras en términos políticos, culturales y económicos debe lidiar con la herencia cultural de las reformas neoliberales, los cambios en la estructura social que éstas produjeron y un contexto internacional que se mueve en un sentido opuesto al de la soberanía de los poderes democráticos. En este trabajo presentamos una serie de análisis (resultado de una investigación empírica) que intentan plantear los desafíos que enfrenta la democracia en Argentina desde el punto de vista de las transformaciones de la estructura social y las reconfiguraciones ideológicas que las acompañaron.Along with the global economic crisis new challenges for democratic societies have arisen. In the particular case of Latin America, it has come to be evident that any attempt to go forward with politics of democratization -in political, cultural and economic terms- will have to deal with the cultural legacy of neoliberal reforms, the changes in the social structure produced by them, and an international context that moves in a direction that is opposite to democratic powers. In this article we offer a number of analyses (produced upon the basis of an empirical research) which try to approach the challenges Argentine democracy must face from the point of view of the transformations of the social structure and the ideological reconfigurations which came along with it.
