This article attempts a defense of the Olivos Pact, thirty years after its creation. It argues that it represents, in an imperfect way, an essential dimension of the post-sovereign constituent processes, which abandon fictitious visions about the sovereign people and unlikely ideas about the possibility of its (perfect) representation. It was a top-level agreement conceived in the heat of the last gasp of traditional political representation mediated by political parties. This defense contrasts two visions of constituent power: a sovereignist one that asks to find the collective sovereign in it and a post-sovereignist one that is content with him participating in the process imperfectly and through multiple representations. The work concludes with an analysis of the Fayt and Schiffrin cases, in which these visions were put into play.
