In this paper we present some central results of the analysis of lithic material from El Chimborazo 1, located in the Travesía Grande, between the mountainous oases of San Luis and Mendoza. The results show the coexistence of expeditionary and preserved strategies. This would be a response to both the distance from the sources and the characteristics of the raw materials. Additionally, a process of lithification of the landscape was identified, typical of the recurrently occupied spaces. It is proposed that the organization of technology responds, in general terms, to the recurrence of occupation in this place, whose location in the landscape is strategic.
