Añoranzas en tiempos de Tecnoceno: estrategias de producción y difusión del folclore joven argentino en el siglo XXI

Abstract

En este trabajo examino, a partir de dos ejemplos, las estrategias de producción y difusión del folclore joven argentino en este siglo. Se trata de un fenómeno que revitalizó esta música a fines de 1990. Las últimas producciones discográficas de los artistas Raly Barrionuevo y Soledad Pastorutti evidencian cómo se configura en la actualidad la escena folclórica argentina. Dicho fenómeno se estudia a través de una dimensión procesual, que refiere a las transformaciones y las continuidades históricas en las que se constituyen el ambiente tecnológico y las prácticas musicales del presente. Del análisis se desprende una tensión entre la tradición, el pasado y las costumbres asociados al folclore musical, y la actualidad, la red digital y la novedad que implican los cambios tecnológicos del siglo XXI.Concerning two case studies, this paper presents the strategies for producing and disseminating young Argentine folklore in the 21st Century. This phenomenon revitalised Argentine folk music in the late 1990s. The latest recordings by artists Raly Barrionuevo and Soledad Pastorutti demonstrate the current state of the Argentine folk music scene. The phenomenon is studied through a processual dimension, which refers to the historical transformations and continuities in which the present technological environment and musical practices are constituted. The analysis reveals a tension between tradition, customs, and conservatism associated with musical folklore, and the actuality, a digital net, and novelty implied by the technological changes of the 21st Century.
