This paper presents a proposal for intervention of a building from the late nineteenth century, which houses the paintings of artist Fernando Fader, is presented at the equity value of the murals painted on the house-museum work conditions commissioning value. The study methodology comprised the following stages: a detailed survey, emergency decisions, the analysis of the maintenance conditions, diagnosis and rehabilitation proposal. The survey of pathologies checks the absence of seismic braces and lack of bearing capacity of their foundations. From the point of view of security restrictions on the number of visitors are required and after inspection of suspended ceilings, showrooms are closed. Analysis of maintenance conditions requires soil surveys and foundations, searches of materials composition identification and measurement of environmental microvibrations to model the building finite element and corroborate the statements of pathologies found. During the study hidden paintings by the same artist were found, this paintings were validated by X-ray diffraction. The diagnosis indicates that monumental masonry building has undergone various architectural interventions throughout its history, leading to diseases affecting the structural safety against vertical, environmental and earthquake loads. In the analysis of the enhancement of the foundation it have been considered various alternatives available, from non-intervention to a significant intervention, depending on the availability of access to it and the local technology. The conclusions highlight the great technological and economic impact of the rehabilitation of foundations in relation to the metal superstructure and incorporate the need to investigate compatible materials to avoid affecting the murals.
