The school stage is an important time for the personality development and learning, and parents are the main support that teach how to face the scholar challenges. The aim of this article is to make a theoretical review about the parental involvment in education influence on their children self-efficacy and executive control, following the results of empirical research and theoretical analysis of more than fifty articles on this theme. It was concluded that given the absence of a univocal concept of the parents participation construct, it´s difficult to determine what aspects of it have the greatest influence on child development. On the other hand, since studies about how this participation influences self-regulation behaviors, such as self-efficacy beliefs and executive control are scarce, the present review opens the way to new studies able to approach this relationship.
