Within the framework of a recently started postdoctoral project, I propose to explore three concepts of the present formulated in the year 2000 by three theorists who are central today in the debates around: a) time and contemporaneity (Georges DidiHuberman); b) the relationships that literature establishes with other fields (Josefina Ludmer); and c) “Word literature” and its transmutation of the idea of the national to study literature (Franco Moretti). Dated locally between two crises, the economic one of 2001 and the viral one of 2020, the present is assumed here as a perspective to reflect on the notions that have served to demonstrate the end of the modern: anachronism, expanded field and global space.
