This article investigates the alternatives followed by the pampean agricultural production from the new paradigm that broke out in the mid-1990s supported by soybean cultivation, achieving production records year after year that allowed it to double its participation in the world supply. from 7% to 15% between 2005 and 2010, respectively. It is about investigating its central characteristics, as well as the economic and social processes and actors that allowed its emergence and subsequent consolidation, since every productive paradigm is a historical and social construction. In this sense, debating the role of both the different types of owners, such as Agricultural Investment Funds and trusts is an inherent concern of this work. Equally relevant is to analyze the interaction of these actors with the technological and productive transformations that determine a growing importance of economies of scale in agriculture in the Pampas. As the conjunction of deindustrialization with a pronounced expansive trend of agricultural production in the Pampas raised the expectation of a possible return to income as a key factor for growth and even economic development, the last section of this article deals with the study of the material base of the Pampas agricultural complex in the long term.
