The article introduces the research results that tackle the role of preserved natural heritage as an inbound tourist attraction in Argentina. The aim is to analyze whether the government has implemented sectorial policies after passing the new Tourism National Law in 2005, which remarks that the government considers tourism a priority activity to drive national socioeconomic development. The results show that the preserved natural heritage acquires notable importance in the definition of the country as a global destination to give a framework to the design of sectorial policies in terms of difficulties and drive a reconfiguration from the national touristic map. We identify risks and tensions associated with these sectorial policies in terms of difficulties not only to guarantee the correct preservation of preserved heritage in the future but also to guarantee that it could be available for all the society which has instituted and maintained in such conditions.
