Resumen
This paper addresses two issues in ECLAC and structuralist thought that are of key importance to unravelling the class constraints of this tradition. The first one regards its underlying dull instrumentalist conception of the state and the second is the model of development. The paper argues that structuralists´ silence regarding any theorizing of the state and their passionate advocacy for (national) development based on industrialisation can be used to unveil the class character of their proposals.
