This paper intends to outline a conception of History from a Postoperaist (Post-Autonomist Marxism) point of view and it is framed within the theoretical attempt to define the very concept of « Postoperaist ». The structure consists of an Introduction, three central parts, and a short Conclusion. The first part will highlight some tensions within Karl Marx's question of historical development. The second part will analyze some aspects concerning a possible anti-deterministic conception of History within Marxist thought. The third part will outline a Postoperaist perspective based on the works of Paolo Virno and Antonio Negri.
