This article explores both the pedagogy of prison and the possibilities of an emancipatory education in the context of confinement. The focus is on the pedagogization of the prison, in the sense of a pedagogical transformation as a search for that institution in a Foucauldian key, in some of the aspects that compose it and in the emancipatory pedagogy in prison. This work was carried out within the framework of qualitative research, carrying out in-depth interviews with both people who were deprived of their liberty and are no longer so, as well as teachers who carry out their educational practice in prison and key informants. In addition, a bibliographic analysis was carried out at the same time as a critical-reflexive interpretative analysis. One of the conclusions reached refers to the fact that, despite investigating education in prison, it is the latter that prevails and insists as a pedagogization of the experience through a disciplining power.
