The tectonic features and infilling minerals from Los Molles Formation (Pliensbachian-Toarcian, Cuyo Group) from Chacay Melehue, Chos Malal fold and thrust belt, Neuquén province, were analyzed in this contribution. Three types of tectonic structures were identified according to the kinematic and mineralization characteristics: i) SW and E/SE dipping faults, with syntaxial growth and blocky texture or with stretched crystals development; ii) high-angle fractures respect layering, with syntaxial growth and blocky texture or crack-seal veins with stretching texture and, iii) bed-parallel low-angle fractures showing synkinematic growth with stretched crystals or multiepisodic antitaxial growth and fibrous texture with or without dissolution features. Cathodoluminescence and fluorescence studies in cements and fluid inclusions allowed to identify a first event of oil expulsion (fluid inclusions with yellow fluorescence) and a second event of dry gas expulsion (fluid inclusions with light-blue fluorescence), favored by permeability related to tectonic deformation. The fluid migration events would be related to tectonic driven exhumation stages of Andean Orogeny, established in the study area for Late Cretaceous and Miocene, respectively.
