State-implemented policies are a field of force relations that, in certain scenarios, are the means for the State to guarantee the rights of citizens; nevertheless, they are also the means for the State to intervene and regulate the distribution of tasks within the home, assigning women to the domestic sphere and the care of others. The analysis of these processes allows for the identification of links between State social policies and State gender policies in a double direction: how gender relations are staked out in social policies (even though the State purports to be sexually neutral), and how gender policies are articulated in State intervention as a whole.
