The present work aims to relate the concepts of youth cultures and youth subcultures together with those of digital identities and youth cyberdiscourse in order to propose a series of relevant notes for the understanding of videoblogs, YouTube's own genre. Our hypothesis is that YouTube videoblogs should be understood as products generated within the framework of youth cultures and as identity configurator environments; at the same time, the dynamism of the new media that generates new ways of reading and understanding discourses should not be lost sight of; also, we need to understand the narrative sequence as a framework for generating and decoding these discourses.
