This paper traces the origin and institutionalization phase of the field of adapted sports in the City of Buenos Aires in the period (1950-1976). To do this, starting with the conceptual tools provided by the theory of Pierre Bourdieu and prioritizing a qualitative approach the research process is performed content analysis of media produced by the first adapted sports clubs of the city and material produced by experts the local physiotherapy and sports adapted and indepth interviews the pioneers users and experts. Through this journey my main intention is to show, arguing with harmonica and mechanistic interpretations, that the consolidation of the philosophy adapted sport implicit in the current offer of the City has been the result of symbolic struggles over the definition of disability legitimate body and adapted legitimate sport in which disabled people have been active, contesting hegemonic way.
