The aim of this contribution is to analyze the relationship between personality and the cognitive processing of logic rules. Recent studies have suggested that certain personality traits like neuroticism and extraversion are semantically related to the processing of syllogisms. The present work extends such insights and explores two additional personality traits: the need for cognition and the introspection quality. These variables are studied for the particular case of DeMorgan´s laws. Such formal rules are concerned with the logical equivalence for the negation of conjunctions and the negation of disjunctions. The main findings of this work suggest that the need for cognition trait is unfavorable to the intuition of these rules. The introspection quality, by the opposite, is a favorable trait for the spontaneous recognition of DeMorgan´s laws. Both hits and mistakes are analyzed concerning the two refereed personality traits and the two rules of logic. Contributions and limitations of these findings are discussed. Further research questions are also proposed.
