The interest to analyze the role of the opinion studies lies in the public and institutional questioning that occurred after the process: some of the polling firms were questioned by the alleged manipulation of their opinion studies in favor of one of the parties in dispute. In this regard, one might ask: was there a manipulation of opinion polls in favor of one of the parties? and, in this sense, did the polls function as a propaganda mechanism within the framework of the electoral campaign?
