The article provides a local analysis of the fascistization process of Italian education in La Plata from 1926, the year in which the fascio of La Plata was founded within the premises of the Società Scuole Italiane “Vittorio Emanuele IIIº”, to 1935, when that institution, reformed in 1929 under the name Società di Cultura Italica “Vittorio Emanuele IIIº”, initiated the reestablishment of an Italian primary school under the control of diplomatic authorities in the city. By examining a set of Argentine and Italian sources, this research seeks to contribute to the studies on Italian education in Argentina during the interwar period, paying particular attentionto the initial steps taken towards its fascistization, within the broader context of the expansión of fascism within the large Italian community established in that country.
