In the realm of new rurality, associativism in tourism becomes a key component of the processes of patrimonialization. The community mechanisms and territorial actions that unfold align behind these collaborative forms of heritage tourism management. In this context, the objective of the work is to analyze the link between associativism in tourism and the processes of patrimonialization in the context of current ruralities, based on the work developed between the asociación civil Amigos de Victorino de la Plaza and the collective Crecer – comuniades rurales en red-, as a case study in the namesake area, located on the «borders» of the Buenos Aires territory. Methodologically, this is framed under the assumptions of action research, with a qualitative approach. The techniques considered involve participant observation and in-depth interviews. As a result, the prevalence of a cooperation scenario among the intervening agents is evidenced, along with the negotiations and conflicts produced between the different groups of actors participating in heritage and tourism activations. Although the latter contributes to the generation of tensions, challenges, and obstacles, it does not induce the loss of the community and associative sense as such, built from the mechanisms of heritage safeguarding and the strategies of tourism dynamization.
