Since the decade of 1930s the translation, circulation, reception and remake of Existentialist thought in Argentina. From this historical moment on, especially between the forties and the sixties, the influence of that complex and diverse philosophical trend was decisive in the development of part of the argentinian culture, history of ideas and literature. Existentialism, in the Sartre’s line or Heidegger’s line or Camus’ line, was crucial in different poetics of writers including Ernesto Sábato, Julio Cortázar, David Viñas, Juan José Sebreli, Roger Pla and Antonio Di Benedetto, among others. The phenomenological perspective over the concrete contour of beings and things, joined with the subjective perceptions and the ideological and political preoccupations —all common of the existentialist vision—, enrich the construction of poetics and literary texts. In other words, a complex intersection between literature and existentialist thought. In this essay, we examine that in Poetics we appreciate an oblique dialogue between Existentialism and literature in Argentina during the decade of 1950. We work on texts that belong to the writers Roger Pla, Antonio Di Benedetto and Julio Cortázar, because they are very divergent examples of that oblique dialogue.
