This work analyses different meanings of being an Indian in Bolivia, on three specific moments of its history. We will examine, with emphasis in the racism/identity relation, the interpretive perspectives of (1) Alcides Arguedas and Franz Tamayo at the dawn of the XX century; (2) the revolutionary nationalism and the revolution of April 1952; and (3) the radical indianism of Fausto Reinaga, in the 1960's.
