We present the results obtained from the analysis of Late Holocene Northwest Patagonian (Río Negro and Chubut provinces) funeral record. We aimed to establish the existence of differential patterns in dead disposition in forest, ecotone and steppe environments, to determine if funeral record characteristics responded to differential modes of use of space and mobility by huntergatherers. We analyzed human skeletal remains from Población Anticura archaeological site and we also searched for bibliographical information and museum catalogues and collections, corresponding to neighboring areas. Funeral record from different environment present common elements, but also many differences were found. Mortuary record from forest/ecotone suggests high residential mobility, while steppe funeral record shows both a high and a low mobility, although we still cannot conclude whether the use of these strategies was contemporary or diachronic.
