In this article, we analyze the individualizing and moralizing character that the questions imprint on the projects of future made by young people during the completion of school, by personalizing the social mandate that gives centrality to higher education in order to advance socially. Based on an ethnographic fieldwork carried out in a secondary school -in urban settings in the Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina-, we analyze the experience of young people within the context of strategies and expectations that adults display, legitimizing certain options over others. These expectations projected on young people generate circuits of responsibility and feelings of anguish regarding the possibility of carrying out projects of future that guarantee future social inclusion in the framework of deeply unequal social relations. In this sense, we conclude that moralization and accountability are differentially expressed in the individual and collective future projects of young people.
