This paper analyzes the visit of Lic. Briviesca de Muñatonesto the Audiencia of Lima between 1560 and 1563. The essay studies the charges made by the visitor after compiling a vast amount of evidence provided by hundreds of witnesses about the work and activities of the judges (oidores). Muñatones raised 72 accusations against judges, accusing them of almost everything that was forbidden to do as ministers of the Court. In response, the defendants wrote their vindications, justifying their actions as honest royal officials. Using this corpus of documents we intend to reconstruct the corporate behavior of the judges of the city of Lima at a time of political instability and constant challenges to royal authority
