There are only a few blazars detected at low galactic latitudes mainly due to the high stellar density and interstellar extinction in these regions. In this work, we present the general outline of a method to select blazar candidates as associations of high-energy sources in these regions. The criteria are defined based on photometric properties of near- and mid-infrared of four known blazars. These are used as a reference to find and characterize unidentified gamma-ray sources. We show our first results applying our method to a small sample of these unidentified sources.
