In the last chapter of the second year of the Don Pedro’s chronicle, the author announces that he will tell us what happened in other realms, because it was so current on account of the good order of the chronicles. This purpose is nor strictly accomplished, but in an irregular way. The author´s words awakes in us some provocative questions, which could be considered in two different fields. In first place: ¿in which ‘chronistical tradition’ Ayala is regarding himself? And afterwards we could ask ourselves if, in these reports about other lands, which usually are cases of what Covadonga Valdaliso calls «secondary facts», «simple supplementary information», once in a while we could find traces of the author’s intent.
