This study examines a beach nourishment project completed in June 2022 along the coastal front of the Playa Dorada neighborhood, located in the southern part of the Mar Chiquita district (37°52'13"S - 57°30'53"W), Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. The research aims to analyze the geomorphological and morphometric changes of the beach before and after nourishment, the textural and com-positional variations of the sediments, and the evolution of the deposit over time to estimate its durability. Post-nourishment analysis revealed a significant influence of continental processes (fluvial, aeolian, and mass removal) over marine processes in sediment redistribution. This led to the development of new beach profile morphologies, including sand flows, alluvial fans, and gullies after the recharge. Results indicate an overall increase in mean grain size and a slight steepening of the beach slope. The differences in grain size and composition between the nourishment material (very fine sandy gravel composed of subangular quartz) and the native beach sediment (medium to fine sand dominated by rounded volcanic lithics and quartz) did not significantly impact the project's durability. The nourishment has performed relatively well compared to similar projects in the region and is of intermediate durability according to Leonard et al. (1990a). During the first year after the nourishment, approximately 34% of the added material was lost. By late No-vember 2023, 17 months after the project's completion, an estimated 50% of the material had been lost, suggesting a moderate useful lifespan for the intervention.
