However, the changes at discourse, legislative, and institutional levels for a Bilingual Intercultural Education (BIE) have not impacted in a significant manner in the historical practices by means of which the educational system has taken care of the «the indigenous matter». In this context, one of the most controversial and key figures is the one of the teachers, that is why it is important to center in the role of the teachers (indigenous or non–indigenous) within the BIE. From the description and analysis of the different experiences of implementation of BIE, in the different provincial contexts, the present articles proposes a trip along the every day of the teachers endeavor in intercultural realms, with emphasis both in the existing regulations and the present and future challenges.
