Misiones represents only 0.8% of Argentinean surface; nevertheless it has the greatest biological diversity. We can estimate that the continental fish fauna living in this territory represents more than 40% of the diversity recorded for the whole country. However, current data on fish species richness are still underestimated and a long systematic work is needed to determine the true richness of this province. In this contribution, we present four new records of fishes for Misiones Province: the Perciformes Apistogramma commbrae, Gymnotiformes Brachyhypopomus gauderio, Characiformes Characidium pterostictum and Siluriformes Imparfinis mishky. The materials described here are added to the long list of species known from Misiones Province.
