This article analyzes the impact of the health emergency on Latin American political parties and the way these organizations adapted to the new conditions, particularly in terms of the use of digital tools. The research draws on two main sources. On the one hand, it uses an exhaustive review of the website and social networks of 62 political parties from 15 Latin American countries. On the other, it systematizes the responses given by a group of legislators from nine countries of the region to a questionnaire designed by the authors. Overall, the article shows that the pandemic accentuated the trend towards an intensive use of digital tools in party communication with the electorate. However, innovative responses appear only as exceptions rather than as common strategies, referring mainly to three types of activities: training programs, party assemblies and, occasionally, internal elections.
