After the general strikes of 1919 in Mendoza, Argentina, the provincial labor movement became disorganized, and a process of conflict decline began. However, as of 1920, there were attempts at union reorganization and measures for direct action that showed the need to get organized and go out to “fight” had been maintained by Mendoza’s workers. In this research, we will carry out a historical reconstruction of the wine strike of 1921 and what it implied for the organization process of Mendoza’s workers, and contribute to a thematic vacancy such as the history of local workers during this period. Thus, we contribute to a larger field of study by contributing to the incipient periodization about the dynamics of the labor movement and the training processes of Mendoza’s workers during these decades. The outcome of this strike not only meant a setback for the wine producers, but also the attempts to unite the provincial labor movement were ended. This resulted in a labor movement divided into at least two federations. In this sense, we will delve into the causes and consequences of the conflict, showing the reflux process that the provincial labor movement was going through.
