This paper focuses on the description and nomenclatural revision of Austroborus cordillerae (Doering 1877), a gastropod endemic to the province of Córdoba, recently included in the Red Book of Argentinean Molluscs. As a living species it has few finds, being better known through its archaeological record. As a fossil it has been recognised from Quaternary strata in the Olaen pampa area. A redescription of the species based on its shell and protoconch characters and a review of previous finds and bibliographical records is made, providing new nomenclatural information and other comments on the material in collections. The species is redescribed on the basis of shell and protoconch characters and a review of previous finds and bibliographic records is made, providing new nomenclatural information and details on material deposited in different collections.
