In this article we will analyze the artistic intervention “Presentes”. Organized by Espacio Memoria and members of the Grupo de Arte Callejero (GAC), who also work at the Ex-Esma. This project has been carried out since September 2012 and continues to be carried out to date. The intervention is about the placement of gigantographies of portraits of the disappeared in different walls of the buildings that make up the premises. The photographs are printed on paper and glued to the walls as a mosaic. The armed activity of the face of the person being portrayed is a punctual moment where the relatives say a few words, meet and stick the image of their disappeared person on the walls of the premises; generating different practices of appropriation of space and ritualization of a moment of mourning. The placement of these devices is of an ephemeral and participatory nature. Our analysis will be guided by the following questions: How is the space on the premises of the Ex-ESMA conceived and appropriated from this project? How do you think about this device and what were its creative processes? How do the previous trajectories of your managers influence the way you create and think about this device? And how do the relatives of the disappeared participate, what practices and interactions are possible, and how are they interpreted?
